In the fall quarter, CFEP staff engaged in a self-curated virtual Black Lives Matter (BLM) Class. Facilitated by 10 of its directors, CFEP developed a mandatory all staff training that included multi-faceted activities to engage staff.

WACUBO 2021 Service Project
Center for Educational Partnerships’ Assistant Director, Patricia Anderson, serves on the Western Association of College & University Business Officers (WACUBO) Host Committee as a lead for the WACUBO Service Project. Anderson identifies and adopts a local underserved elementary school in the community where the conference is held.

BLAC Gala Book Scholarship Recipient
The UCI Center for Educational Partnerships together with the UCI Black Leadership Advancement Coalition (BLAC) comprised of the UCI Center for Black Cultures, Resources & Research (CBCRR), the UCI Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) and the UCI African American Alumni Council awards the BLAC Scholarship to UC Irvine students since 2002.
This year’s BLAC Scholarship of $1,350 is awarded to UCI junior Annique Session, a first-generation college-going student. Session is a Business Administration major with an emphasis in Organization and Management. Her career aspiration is to work in the field of event management.

University of California academic advisers who have in-depth knowledge about the college admissions process contribute to The EDGE. They understand the most common challenges faced by high school and transfer students and work together to form an annual publication to assist students through the challenging application process. The EDGE often includes articles that address challenges such as:
