TEAM: 2-4
Students will construct a trebuchet with the specifications given and compete in 4 different categories. Category 1 is performance, where trebuchets will be tested on distance, accuracy, strength, and design efficiency. Category 2 is technical paper; students must give details of the trebuchets development, experiment, and understanding. Category 3 is the academic display; students will have to design a display board which illustrates what they have learned from their research (includes photographs, drawings, charts, and etc). Category 4 is the oral presentation; groups will be asked to present their project by discussing their experiments, design, testing, and experiences throughout the project. Questions will also be given. |

Students will engineer a mousetrap powered vehicle that will go up a 30 degree incline. Mousetrap car must be constructed based on the specifications given by the rule. |

TEAM: 1-2
Students will be allowed to use 2 manila folders to engineer a bridge that will carry a maximum load. Design, efficiency, and craftsmanship are essential in this project.

Students will construct a bisected heart based on the specifications given in the rules. In addition, students will be asked to answer questions given in the MESA Day curriculum. |

TEAM: 1-2
Students will construct a glider from balsawood that will be tested outdoors based on its ability to stay in the air for the longest time. The host center will provide the hand-held catapult for this event. |

TEAM: 3(MUST BE 3 STUDENTS)
Teams will choose an official topic given in the rules that they will prepare into a short oral presentation. Students are encouraged to use visual aids and other allowed material to enhance their presentation. Working together is key to this competition. |
