Volunteers play a vital role in the success of the program. Without them the program couldn't do the various activities it sets out to accomplish. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for one of our events, please read on.

WHO ARE MESA VOLUNTEERS?
Becoming a volunteer varies on your taste, desires, and how committed you want to be.  A volunteer doesn’t have to stay all day.  Usually volunteers stay for an hour or two, but in some cases there are those that like to help for the whole day.  The program needs all the help it can get, and any time donated to us is priceless.

As a volunteer, you will assist the MESA program by helping us in various activities.  Some of the most common activities are helping us set up in the morning or cleaning up in the afternoon, helping greet students in the morning, doing icebreakers with students, judging for a MESA competition, assisting in workshops, and many more.  There are many tasks that need to be done, and your help is essential.

SO HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Simple, all you need to do is find a volunteer date you wish to help out, which will be posted on the home page and event page. Once you have found a date that suits you, send an email directly to Marvin Maldonado, the MESA Academic Coordinator, with the proper information necessary to get you to help out:

1) Your name; 2) Email Address; 3) Phone Number; 4) Time interval you will volunteer for; 5) Club Affiliation if you have one; 6) College Major; 7) Year in College or Graduate; and 8) Which training session you will attend.

IS THERE A TRAINING SESSION I CAN GO TO?

Volunteering for MESA is made easier by attending our MESA Day Training Sessions. By coming to one, you are given the proper information about MESA and how you can better help us in your role as a volunteer. In addition, you will be prompted on the proper conduct that must take place during the day of the event which is very important. We will post any training session dates and times. If you cannot attend a session, you can contact Marvin Maldonado and you can arrange a better time. Also, if you are a UCI club/org, we can set up a time to train your members all at once.
