August 7, 2008 What are your advisors up to?

During the summer, your advisor are also preparing for next year's MESA activities. Earlier this month, 11 of our very own advisor from all grade levels attended a MESA conference to gain more knowledge about the MESA Day projects and how to make MESA better at your schools. The put a lot of time and effort to make sure UCI MESA is a success year in and year out, so don't forget to thank them during the year for what they do!!

June 26, 2008 "Engineering Your Future" College Roadtrip for Seniors

We're proud to announce a unique opportunity for next year's seniors to explore several university campuses in California during a 4-day road trip on July 21-24, 2008. Along the way we will make pit stops at CSU Northridge, UC Santa Barbara, CSU Poly San Luis Obispo, CSU Fresno, UC Merced, and UC Berkeley. This is event is open ONLY to incoming seniors from a UCI MESA high school. Click on the flyer below for full details.

May 10, 2008 Multi-Task Trebuchet State Finals (Fresno, CA)

We are extremely pleased and proud to have another team from Roosevelt Middle School compete in the state finals for a third straight year. We want to congratulate Jessica Pino, Easter Thames, Kiana Williams, and Eddie Recinos for an outstanding job and for representing their school and the city of Compton with nothing short of class and pride. It was a close competition, and Roosevelt came away with 2nd place overall!!

It is students like these four that are continuing to make Compton shine in a positive light. We encourage and motivate everyone else to work even harder for next year's competitions and to continue this great success that you are all well capable of.
