About the Gifted Students Academy

DARLENE BOYD, Ed.D. Has been Director of the UCI Center for Educational Partnerships' Gifted Students Academy (GSA) for over a decade. Previously, she served as Director of the Gifted and Creative Studies Network at Widener University. She has also served as an assistant professor of educational administration, educational policy studies and gifted studies. Dr. Boyd frequently presents workshops on designing curriculum for gifted students. She has presented and published papers and articles on gifted studies, serves as a board member for several educational associations, is past president of the American Creativity Association and has served on the board of the California Association for the Gifted. Dr. Boyd is the 2004 recipient of the California Association for the Gifted Distinguished Service Award for the Orange Region.
