Linda McCorkel Clinard (KLINE'-erd) specializes in Pre-K-12 reading/literacy education and curriculum development. Linda currently serves as Literacy Specialist with the California Reading and Literature Project (CRLP) UCI/Orange County Regional in the UCI Center for Educational Partnerships.
California Reading and Literature Project- A Collaborative Effort
Mission: CRLP works to improve student achievement in grades PreK-12 by providing high quality professional development institutes and productive leadership training that both deepens the content knowledge of teachers and develops teacher leadership, in accordance with both the adopted State Board of Education Standards and the California Reading and Language Arts Framework.

The CRLP UCI/OC Region works with a regional team of leaders PreK-12 to offer CRLP professional development services to partnership districts and schools in Orange County and surrounding areas. Linda facilitates the CRLP Everyday Literacy for Families program to train educators to implement research-supported PreK - Elementary family literacy events.

PreK through grade 12 presentations to schools, the community, and professional organizations with a focus on school-to-home communication (family literacy), standards-based, research-supported reading/literacy instruction for English Learners, and literacy across across the curriculum.

Family Time Reading Fun, Kendall-Hunt Publishers, Dubuque, Iowa (www.kendallhunt.com). This book shares research-supported information, over 100 strategies for specific purposes linked to the California PreK through grade 4 expectations, and suggestions of many online resources to support parents, students, and teachers. The updated version of the Family Time Reading Fun/DRDP-R Strategies Grid which includes the newly-developed 2006 California Department of Education PreK Age 3-Kindergarten Desired Results Developmental Profile-Revised observation assessment measures is attached.
Articles such as (1) "What Mentoring Does for Mentors: a cross-cultural perspective" (European Journal of Teacher Education, Vol. 21, No. 1, 1998) co-authored with Linda's Israeli research colleague, Dr. Tamar Ariav of Beit Berl College, Israel, and (2) "Literacy Strategies Improve Content Area Learning," published in the Reading Conference Yearbook, Claremont Graduate University, 1999.
