CAMP Summer Science Academy (CSSA):CSSA

The CAMP Summer Science Academy (CSSA) is a three-week residential program that prepares incoming freshmen for the transition from high school to UCI. CSSA emphasizes the development of critical thinking and concentrates on courses critical for the students' career.

CAMP Summer Science Scholars:

CAMP's Summer Science Scholars is a 10-week program that enables UCI students to conduct research at UCI or various research centers during the summer. Under the mentorship of a faculty research advisor, students are introduced to the challenging and fascinating world of academic research. Furthermore, students may prepare a presentation and present their findings at various conferences throughout the year. Summer Scholars have gone on to present at conferences around the country in cities such as: Boston, Miami, Chicago, St. Louis, New Orleans, Austin, and many others!

Edison Scholars Program

Offered to CAMP Eligible transfer students, Edison International offers a two-year $15,000 ($7,500 each year) scholarship based on merit and academic promise. Applicants must be transferring to UC Irvine from an Edison International serviced area in California. Criteria for the Edison Scholarship is as follows:

 

1. Underrepresented science student with the following major(s): Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Environmental Sciences

2. U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

3. Must be financial aid eligible

4. Upon receipt of scholarship, must commit to 25 hours of community service at the discretion of the program director

 

The Edison Scholars program assists transfer students in quickly utilizing their resources at CAMP & the University during their short academic career at UC Irvine. Students gain access to internships, free professional tutoring, and seminars on graduate school & career planning.

 

If you are eligible to receive this scholarship then it is highly recommended that you apply and submit your application to the front desk with Leo Pena or George Vazquez.

 

Application deadline is December 15th, 2016 by 5:00 pm. The letter of recommendation is due by January 6th, 2017.
